YOUR ITINERARY:

DAY 1:  Depart USA, Arrive in AMBERGRIS CAYE,
Belize (D*).
Your fascinating trip begins today with
your overseas flight to Belize.  Take the local flight
we have arranged for you to the unhurried and
slow-paced life of Ambergris Caye.  Walk around
the island and get to know the villagers.  Tonight at
dinner, meet your fellow travelers who have
embarked on this journey together with you.

DAY 2: AMBERGRIS CAYE: CAYE CAULKER DAY
SNORKEL & SAIL, (B*).
Today's full day tour will take
you to the enchanting marine park of Hol Chan.
Hol Chan is the Mayan word for "little channel".  This
captivating marine park includes a natural
channel through the barrier reef that allows boat
access to the deep sea.  It is teeming with marine
life.  You can spot sting rays, nurse sharks, and a
wide array of small and color fishes.  Your second
breath-taking snorkeling stop will be at Shark / Ray
Alley.  Be sure to bring your waterproof camera as
the folks at home will never believe how close you
get to these wild creatures.  Pet a shark or a
stingray, or two, or three, and then continue on for
lunch (on your own) on the amazing little
neighboring fishing village island of Caye Caulker.
Then, sail leisurely back to Ambergris Caye.

DAY 3:  AMBERGRIS CAYE: SUNSET CRUISE (*B) -- After
breakfast, enjoy your free day sightseeing, shopping
and getting to know the island, its people and the
culture.   Or, you can embark on one of our
optional tours (Mexico Rocks & Robles Beach
Snorkel & BBQ - $75, Discover Scuba One Day
Course - $140 US
).  At 5:00 p.m., embark on a Sunset
Cruise beginning from Ramon's Dock.   Sail south
towards Hol Chan Marine Reserve, where you can
sit back, relax and watch as the sun sets on the
Caribbean. Then, enjoy the evening as we arrive
back in San Pedro at approx. 7:30p.m.  Cruise
includes: Beer, sodas, rum punch, water and snacks.

DAY 4:  AMBERGRIS CAYE - RURAL BELIZE DISTRICT:
BABOON SANCTUARY (B*, L*, D*) -
Today we will
depart Ambergris Caye after breakfast via local
flight to the Municipal Airstrip.  Here, we will board a
mini-bus which will transport the group to Rural
Belize.  Check into your hotel and have lunch.  In
the early afternoon, we will head out to the
Baboon Sanctuary to view the Howler Monkeys
(locally known as Baboons) in their natural habitat.

DAY 5:  RURAL BELIZE DISTRICT: ALTUN HA MAYA RUIN
(B*, L*, D*).
Enjoy a leisurely half day tour of the
Altun Ha Maya Ruin, home of the jade head of
Kinich Ahau, the Mayan Sun God.   In the
afternoon, take an optional tour of the Belize River
to experience and enjoy the wildlife.

DAY 6: RURAL BELIZE - RURAL CAYO DISTRICT:  BELIZE
ZOO (B*, D*)-
Today we head to the Cayo District
to enjoy some of the hilly terrain of that area.  This
area is laden with surprise waterfalls, rapids, and
flowing rivers.  On the way, we will make a stop at
the BELIZE ZOO, the finest little zoo in the world, to
view native animals in their natural habitat.  Say
hello to the tapir, the National Animal of Belize, take
some photos with the scarlett macaws, and just
enjoy...

DAY 7: RURAL CAYO DISTRICT:  XUNANTUNICH (B*,
D*)-
Today we will take a trip down the Western
Highway to Succotz Village where we will cross the
Mopan River via a hand-cranked wooden ferry.
The dirt road on the other side of the river will lead
us to the highest Mayan structure in Belize.   From
the top of the highest pyramid, El Castillo, you can
see the Peten area of Guatemala.   Spend the
afternoon at your leisure at the jungle lodge.
Explore some waterfalls, or just relax and enjoy the
scenery.

DAY 8:  RURAL CAYO DISTRICT: MOUNTAIN PINE
RIDGE (B*, L*, D*)
- Take a full day trip up to the
Mountain Pine Ridge area of the Maya Mountains.
This area is teeming with little brooks, creeks, rapids
and waterfalls all in their pristine state.   Visit the
1000 foot waterfall, the Rio Frio caves and the Rio
On pools where Charlize Theron was filmed
swimming in one of the pools earlier this year.

DAY 9:  RURAL CAYO DISTRICT - PLACENCIA:  SPANISH
LOOKOUT (B*, L*)-
Today's journey will take you
through the Mennonite village of Spanish Lookout.
The Mennonites live a very simple and Amish
lifestyle, shunning modern living.  They are very
religious.  It is not unusual to see produce still being
transported by mule and cart in this area.  We will
stop in the village for some home made Mennonite
ice cream.  From here, we head on South until we
get to the Placencia peninsula.

DAY 10:  PLACENCIA - (B*) FREE DAY  Lounge on the
beach, enjoy a frozen drink, or explore the village --
it's up to you.  Today is a free day for you to enjoy
as you wish.

DAY 11:  PLACENCIA - PGIA - YOUR HOME: (B*)Hop
on your local flight which will take you back to the
Phillip Goldson International Airport where you can
board your homeward bound international flight.
