YOUR ITINERARY:

DAY 1:  Depart USA, Arrive in CAYE CAULKER, Belize
(D).
Your fascinating trip begins today with your
overseas flight to Belize.  Take the local flight we
have arranged for you to the unhurried and
slow-paced life of Caye Caulker.  Walk around the
island and get to know the villagers.  Tonight at
dinner, meet your fellow travelers who have
embarked on this journey together with you.

DAY 2: CAYE CAULKER: HOL CHAN MARINE PARK &
SHARK/RAY ALLEY (B):
Today's full day tour will take
you to the enchanting marine park of Hol Chan.
Hol Chan is the Mayan word for "little channel".  This
captivating marine park includes a natural
channel through the barrier reef that allows boat
access to the deep sea.  It is teeming with marine
life.  You can spot sting rays, nurse sharks, and a
wide array of small and color fishes.  Your second
breath-taking snorkeling stop will be at Shark / Ray
Alley.  Be sure to bring your waterproof camera as
the folks at home will never believe how close you
get to these wild creatures.  Pet a shark or a
stingray, or two, or three, and then continue on for
lunch (on your own) on the neighboring island of
Ambergris Caye.  Third snorkel stop which is on the
way back to Caye Caulker is at the Coral Gardens.

DAY 3:  CAYE CAULKER: HALF DAY LOCAL REEF (B)--
Enjoy your morning sightseeing, walking around the
island and getting to know the people.   Rent a
bike and ride up to the Split if you wish.  Your half
day snorel trip this afternoon will depart at 1:30
p.m.  A short boat ride will take you out to the local
reef where most of your snorkeling is done in waist
deep water.  .

DAY 4:  CAYE CAULKER - ORANGE WALK:  CROOKED
TREE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (B, L, D)-
Today we will
depart Caye Caulker after breakfast via water taxi
to the Municipal Airstrip.  Here, we will board a
mini-bus which will transport the group to Orange
Walk.  On the way to Orange Walk Town, we will
stop at the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary where
your guide will take you on a tour through the lush
countryside to enjoy the flora and fauna.  This is a
birder's delight.  If you are a birder, bring your
binoculars.

DAY 5:  ORANGE WALK TOWN: LAMANAI MAYA RUIN
(B, L, D).
After breakfast today we will take a boat
trip down the New River to the Lamanai Maya
Ruins.  Lamanai is Mayan for "submerged
crocodile".  On the boat ride to the ruins, your
guide will point out to you native flora and fauna.
And if you are lucky, you may even spot lazy
crocodiles sunning on the branches or the
riverbank.  Once you get to Lamanai, your guide
will take you on a tour of the ruins.  Climb the
temple and enjoy the view.

DAY 6: ORANGE WALK TOWN - SAN IGNACIO AREA:
BELIZE ZOO (B) -
Today we head to the Cayo
District to enjoy some of the hilly terrain of that area.
This area is laden with surprise waterfalls, rapids,
and flowing rivers.  On the way, we will make a stop
at the BELIZE ZOO, the finest little zoo in the world,
to view native animals in their natural habitat.  Say
hello to the tapir, the National Animal of Belize, take
some photos with the scarlett macaws, and just
enjoy...

DAY 7: RURAL CAYO DISTRICT:  XUNANTUNICH (B) -
Today we will take a trip down the Western
Highway to Succotz Village where we will cross the
Mopan River via a hand-cranked wooden ferry.
The dirt road on the other side of the river will lead
us to the highest Mayan structure in Belize.   From
the top of the highest pyramid, El Castillo, you can
see the Peten area of Guatemala.   Spend the
afternoon at your leisure at the jungle lodge.
Explore some waterfalls, or just relax and enjoy the
scenery.

DAY 8:  RURAL CAYO DISTRICT: MOUNTAIN PINE
RIDGE (B, L)
 - Take a full day trip up to the
Mountain Pine Ridge area of the Maya Mountains.
This area is teeming with little brooks, creeks, rapids
and waterfalls all in their pristine state.   Visit the
1000 foot waterfall, the Rio Frio caves and the Rio
On pools where Charlize Theron was filmed
swimming in one of the pools earlier this year.

DAY 9:  RURAL CAYO DISTRICT - RURAL BELIZE:
SPANISH LOOKOUT (B, L, D) -
Today's journey will
take you through the Mennonite village of Spanish
Lookout.  The Mennonites live a very simple and
Amish lifestyle, shunning modern living.  They are
very religious.  It is not unusual to see produce still
being transported by mule and cart in this area.
We will stop in the village for some home made
Mennonite ice cream.  From here, we head back
to the Belize District.

DAY 10:  RURAL BELIZE - BABOON SANCTUARY
(HOWLER MONKEYS) (B, L, D)
:  Today we'll take a trip
into the rural Belize countryside until we get to
Bermudian Landing, home of the Baboon
Sanctuary.  Here a guide will take you through the
sanctuary and maybe even teach you some
monkey howls.

DAY 11:  RURAL BELIZE - PGIA - YOUR HOME: Hop on
your local flight which will take you back to the
Phillip Goldson International Airport where you can
board your homeward bound international flight.
