For its rather small size (8,867 Sq. Miles), Belize has an amazingly diverse topography
rich with nature and wildlife. Its low population (a little more than a quarter of a
million people) translates into large expansive areas left in their pristine and natural
state. Its rich Mayan history also means that this entire little country is literally
covered with Mayan ruins (some explored, but many yet unexplored and many
more still undiscovered).
The second longest barrier reef in the world also runs along the coast of Belize,
making for amazing and interesting scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing.
Add to the mix the fact that the official language of this sweet little country is
English and you can understand our enthusiasm for wanting you to visit.
Add them all together and what do you get? A vacation of exciting explorations
and adventures.
Quite convenient if you do not have much time is that flights from Houston, Dallas,
Miami, Charlotte and Atlanta are less than two and a half hours each way. There
are also direct flights from Los Angeles, but those are a bit longer.
You will need a valid passport to enter the country of Belize. US, UK, Canadians
and most European nationals do not require a visitor's visa.
