Fishing around Caye Caulker, Belize
FISHING TIPS
On fishing trips, lunch and refreshments are usually not
included. Please feel free to pack and bring your own. Coolers
are provided for your convenience. Also, be sure to wear sun
block, a cap and sunglasses.
FLATS FISHING
Our job here is to set you up with the best guides on the island.
Bone Fish, Tarpon, includes tackle and bait. Flats fishing is
where you go to the back of the island on the lagoon side and
try your luck against the wily bonefish, tarpon and permit,
which are found in great numbers here in Belize. You can fish
for these on fine spinning tackle or on fly fishing gear (which
every serious fly fisherman will bring to Belize).
BOTTOM FISHING
Or sometimes called reef fishing gives you the chance to
catch snapper, grouper, jacks and barracuda. Great family
fun with an "anything can happen" possibility when bottom
fishing. An occasional shark or game fish is not uncommon. But,
be kind, please insist that anything that is not going to be
eaten be put back.
DEEP SEA FISHING
Get ready for some fighting chair big game action. Deep Sea
fishing boats are usually about 30’ and will troll outside the
Belize barrier Reef for Marlin, Bill Fish, Dorado, Wahoo and
Sharks. All game fish are catch and release in Belize waters.
Patience is the name of the game when deep sea fishing but
when the action starts, it’s worth the wait. Our deep sea
fishing guides are professionals offering fishing trips as their
trade. Includes boat, tackle and bait.
FISHING PICNIC
Are you ready for some real fun??? Pile your friends and family
into the boat and away you go to do some bottom fishing for
the morning. After a while the fish will begin to accumulate in
the boat. Now we're off to a beach where your guides will
prepare the feast of a lifetime. Prepared in the traditional
Belizean spices and sauce, they build a beach fire and your
meal is cooked on the open flame. While waiting for lunch to
be ready you can take a swim in the ocean or just relax on the
beach. Includes boat, tackle bait and soft drinks.
